YOUR GROUP LEADERS/TEACHER BIOS:

Wanda Lambeth

wanda-CSYsmall

A short few years ago, on the advice of her doctor, Wanda was encouraged to try a yoga class to help with body tension and insomnia. At the same time, she was beginning to experience the effects of becoming middle-aged and all the precious things that go with it. She needed help!

Driving home that first day after practice, Wanda was already feeling the benefits of spending some time out of her thoughts and into her body – both had become very disconnected. She could take full breaths and actually feel some space between her thoughts.

Fast forward to January 2014 when Wanda decided yoga was to be a part of her life – for the rest of her life. It was bringing her strength, flexibility and overall improved health but the best part was the calm and peace that was now part of her days and nights. To this end, she knew she had to share this with others so registered for the 200-hour yoga teacher training program.

Wanda expanded her yoga teacher training to include Trauma Informed Yoga Instruction as well as Chair Yoga for Seniors.  Her main focus is teaching Gentle Hatha classes with a special interest in teaching to those who are entering their middle and senior years and need a gentle, yet healthy and sustainable way to maintain their lifestyle.

Susan Shepherd

susanSusan began practicing yoga in 2008 while at a spa retreat with her family. She was the only person in the free class, and the instructor got her hooked on the amazing stretches where at the end of the class she felt like a new person! When she returned home, she immediately started taking several yoga classes a week. Not only did her 70-year old teacher inspire her, but she felt better both physically and emotionally.

In January 2014, when her best friend Wanda registered for the 200-hour yoga teaching certificate program, Susan decided to also signed up for this intensive course that covered everything from postures, breathing techniques, anatomy and philosophy.

Since graduating in June 2014, Susan has enjoyed sharing her yoga practice with beginner and intermediate students. She currently offers Hatha slow flow classes as she believes MOTION helps our EMOTIONS. Susan encourages students to go at their own pace and make the poses their own.

*Both Wanda and Susan are Emergency First Aid and Level C CPR certified AND carry 3rd party liability insurance
