Making Rosewater

Wow do I love this tip I received through my Ayurvedic studies. Rose water does not just make use of wilted flowers but it enhances your health and well being. You can use rose petals from a bouquet given to you from a loved one or roses from your garden or even wild roses. How does rose water benefit your health and wellbeing? Rosewater……

  • Hydrates the skin
  • Is amazingly refreshing
  • Contains antioxidants
  • Works as an energy and mood enhancer
  • Soothes skin irritations

Tired, puffy eyes? Soak cotton pads in rose water and place gently on eyelids.

Carry a mister with you and refresh your skin and hair frequently.

Here is the recipe:

Place rinsed petals from 8-12 roses in a deep pot and cover with distilled water (only cover to the top of the petals so you don’t weaken the rose water too much). Bring to a gentle simmer over medium high heat for 20 minutes, reduce heat and continue to simmer until all petals are a soft pink or white. Cool and drain through a colander, then discard the petals. Cool the rose water and place in glass jars, keeping it in the fridge until you are ready to use. Enjoy this ancient remedy!
